As expected, the attendance record for the High Holidays of St. Lawrence was beaten with some

57 000 spectators during the last 4 days that the festival.

Of these, 22 000 attended the show Simple Plan and 17 000 to that of Eric Lapointe. Not bad, right?

The museum octagonal barn

The octagonal barn in St-Fabien becomes a museum!

Built in 1888, the barn has recently undergone many renovations and was transformed into a museum tracing the history of those who have managed: Adolphe Gagnon and Angela Soucy. The latter won a prize of Agricultural Merit in 1892.

Since December 14 2006, this building is a historical monument by the Ministry of Culture.

Until September 10, 2009, you can visit the barn between 4:30 p.m. 9:30 a.m. ET every day of the week. The cost of admission is $ 7 for adults and $ 2 for children. The barn is located at 129A Park Street in St-Fabien.

The tourist traffic is good this year

The Rimouskois of Wednesday, July 15, 2009 we announced that tourist traffic in the Bas-St-Laurent is very good this year, despite the cold wet weather that we suffer from the early summer. Tourism in the month of May has increased significantly compared to last year largely because of the holding of the Memorial Cup, and in June remained unchanged from last year.

Onondaga, the only submarine to be filled be visited in Canada, became known for the wrong reasons. It was difficulties surrounding its tow to the dock at Pointe-au-Père a media laughingstock.

It is worthwhile to do it again, and what better way to get back into the bath as you announce the third edition of the High Holidays of St. Lawrence!

If this festival is not quite old, it is gaining popularity at lightning speed! In its third year of existence, its programming is already in my opinion better than the Quebec City Summer Festival.

This year, the High Holidays of St. Lawrence will be held from July 16 to 19 . The organizers had initially target 50 000 spectators, but now that the buttons are selling like hotcakes, they expect to go well beyond this peak. Provided, of course, the temperature is on our side!

This year the lineup includes including Jonathan Painchaud, Eric Lapointe, Meaning, and Naughty Tribute to Simple Plan.

The buttons were sold in advance until July 12 at a cost of $ 13 and will sell at the door cost $ 30. For all these shows there, it's worth it, right?
